So in honor of our upcoming 2-year wedding anniversary next month, I think it’s probably finally time to change my blog URL, seeing as how I’m approximately 700 days post-wedding-planning.
It’s that time of the year…
When the air conditioning on the subway is not proportionate to the humidity outside.
I miss my long hair that I could throw into a top knot on days like today.
So if you request twice to HR that your final paycheck be direct deposited, you expect it to be direct deposited, right?
Oh, you wouldn’t expect that after those two conversations, they’d send your paycheck via FedEx, FedEx wouldn’t leave a single delivery notice, FedEx would then say that you weren’t there to sign for it 3x and would then return your final paycheck to sender?
Right, you wouldn’t expect that because you expected that it was being direct deposited. Because HR asked you that question twice in your last 3 weeks at your job, and you watched them write down your preference on your exit paperwork. TWICE.
I’m slightly annoyed, if you can’t tell.
I just won two tickets to Googa Mooga tomorrow & then realized I’m not going to be able to go. First person to send me their email address to my Ask box gets them!
Week 1 at my new job: I got thrown into a week of TV Upfronts. When I went to the FOX presentation on Monday and saw Mindy Kaling, I didn’t think the week could get much better. But then I saw the entire cast of How I Met Your Mother perform a musical number at Carnegie Hall and danced next to Scott Porter (Jason Street! Six!) at the CW party.
I am so tired.
Upfronts 2013!!!! With miss Mindy Kaling!
You guys, I was here today and saw them. Best first day of work ever!
I have a Target gift card to use, so I’m doing a little shopping. Apparently I’m in a black & gray mood. Also, Prabal Gurung for Target for $9.
I discovered a secret menu item today - the American Gangster. It’s a cross between the Salty Pimp and the American Globster. The Salty Pimp is still my favorite, but this is a close second. (at Big Gay Ice Cream Shop)
I only took two days off between the end of my old job and the beginning of my new one, but boy, did I luck out with today’s 80-degree day! Even though it looks like I packed in a ton, it was a completely relaxing and perfect spring day. Today, by the numbers:
- 1 bang trim
- 2-hour boozy lunch with a friend
- 2 candy store visits
- 6 mini cupcakes from Baked by Melissa
- 2 new pairs of shorts, 2 new dresses, 2 new pairs of sandals
- 1 hour laying around in Central Park
- 100 pages of 236 Pounds of Class Vice President read
- About 5 miles walked
- 2 brown eyeliners acquired from Sephora (I swear they look different)
- 3 dog walks
“When you talked earlier about after a few years, how a couple begins to hate each other by anticipating their reactions or getting tired of their mannerisms… I think it would be the opposite for me. I think I could really fall in love when I know everything about someone. The way he’s gonna part his hair. Which shirt he’s gonna wear that day. Knowing the exact story he’d tell in a given situation. I’m sure that’s when I know I’m really in love.”
